The Manchester Urban Observatory (MUO) offers a unique service bringing data, sensors and expertise together to improve decision making in cities relating to air quality, urban infrastructure and wellbeing.
Through partnership and big data, MUO provides an innovative new model for how Universities can create sustainable and scalable change.
The Manchester Urban Observatory is funded as part of the UK Collaboratorium for Research in Infrastructure and Cities (UKCRIC) network of interlinked urban infrastructure observatories at sites across the UK.
As part of this UK-wide collaborative effort to accurately measure and analyse our urban environments, the data gathered is to be open access and all of the equipment used can be made available to other organisations.
